Central Coast Residents Discover New Walking Routes and Markets This July

Central Coast residents can start mapping short drives and bus routes this week to reach four new seasonal stops that opened on 1 July.

Winter brings lower crowds and steadier parking at popular spots, which matters now because school holidays end on 19 July and many families want low-cost outings before routines tighten again.

Daytime stops

Head first to the Gosford Waterfront Markets on Mann Street every Saturday from 8am, where local growers sell citrus and herbs for under $8 a bag. Follow that with a 20-minute walk to the Central Coast Regional Botanic Garden on the Pacific Highway, which added a new boardwalk section last month that stays dry even after rain.

Further north, Terrigal Beach Road now hosts a pop-up coffee cart at 42 Ocean Street open until 3pm on weekdays, serving flat whites for $5.50. Council figures show 18,400 visits to these two sites combined during July 2025, a 14 percent rise from the year before.

Evening options

After dark, the Avoca Beach Picture Theatre on Avoca Drive runs double features on Thursdays for $18, drawing residents from Wamberal and Kincumber. Book ahead online or at the door before 7pm.

Start with one market or garden visit this weekend, then add the cinema or a second trail the following week to build a steady routine without extra travel costs.
