Central Coast Firms Announce AI Products, Hardware Launches at July Meetups

More than 180 developers and product leads gathered at the Central Coast Innovation Center on July 10 to map out release schedules for new AI family tools and camera-free smart glasses.

The timing lines up with broader industry shifts where companies push household versions of chat systems and productivity wearables ahead of the fall conference cycle. Organizers chose the date to let teams adjust plans before Q3 budgets lock in.

Venues draw crowds from across the city

Meetups rotate between the Innovation Center on Pier Street in the Bayview neighborhood and the Harbor Tech Hub at 450 Seaside Avenue. Both sites run recurring sessions through August that focus on open-roadmap discussions rather than product demos.

Bayview sessions have drawn 40 percent more first-time attendees than last summer, according to sign-in data from the Central Coast Tech Alliance, which sponsors the series.

Numbers point to scaled plans

Registration for the next session on July 22 closed at 225 spots, up from 165 in May, with tickets priced at 35 dollars for non-members. The Alliance reported 12 local startups have already listed target launch windows between September and December for features tied to household AI and lightweight glasses hardware.

Teams planning to attend should register through the Alliance site by July 18 and prepare one slide on their projected milestones. Updated calendars appear weekly on the Pier Street and Seaside Avenue venue boards.
