Three community fitness events will start on the Central Coast within the next month, with registrations now open for a July fun run along the Gosford to Terrigal beach path and a charity walk through Bouddi National Park.

Winter months bring shorter days and cooler temperatures that can reduce regular outdoor activity for many residents, making scheduled group events a practical way to maintain exercise routines without requiring individual planning.

Routes through known local spots

The Gosford to Terrigal beach path will host the main 5-kilometre fun run on 25 July, organised in partnership with the Terrigal Surf Lifesaving Club. A separate charity walk on 8 August will cover sections of the Bouddi National Park trails near Killcare, with the Avoca Surf Lifesaving Club providing volunteer support at checkpoints. Participants can also join a weekly group cycle around Tuggerah Lake that feeds into event training sessions run by local clubs.

These routes use established tracks that connect popular neighbourhoods including West Gosford, Avoca Beach and Copacabana, allowing residents from multiple suburbs to reach start points by public transport or short drives.

Registration and next steps

The July fun run opens for entries on 11 July 2026 and closes on 20 July. Walkers and runners can sign up through the Terrigal Surf Lifesaving Club website or at the clubrooms on Ocean Street. Those new to group events are advised to check the current trail conditions on the National Parks website before heading to Bouddi and to arrive at least 30 minutes early on event days for briefing. Local medical professionals remain the best source for individual fitness advice before joining any activity.
